VIWMA SEWER LINE REPLACEMENT AND MANHOLE REHABILITATION PORJECT - STREET CLOSURE UPDATE

 

(St. Croix, USVI) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises the community that from Tuesday March 12th to Friday March 15th, 2024, the sewer lines on King Street, Christiansted town, will be replaced with new PVC sewer pipes. The sewer lines installation schedule is as follows:

Vehicular parking will not be allowed on the dates listed above while the lines are being installed. The traffic will be detoured as follows:

  • Entering Christiansted please use Watergut Street or Peter’s Farm Road.
  •  Leaving Christiansted please use Company Street/Prince Street and Prince Street/Watergut Street.

Motorists are asked to proceed with caution in the work area. The VIWMA thanks the community for their patience and cooperation.

ST. CROIX HOUSE TO HOUSE COLLECTION - HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

 

(St. Croix, USVI) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises the community that the house-to-house garbage pickup schedule has been changed due to the holiday season. The dates will change from Saturday, January 06, 2024, to Sunday, January 07, 2024, for the following areas:

Estate Upper and Lower Love, Estate St. Georges, Estate Castle Burke (New & Old), Estate Mountain, Estate Calquohoun, Coble/Jealousy, and Golden Grove Park

KING CROSS STREET/STRAND STREET TO MARKET STREET/STRAND STREET INTERSECTION ASPHALT PAVING RESTORATION

 

(St. Croix) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises the community that on Tuesday January 2nd to Friday January 5, 2024, asphalt paving will be done on the excavated trenches (new sewer lines installation) on King Cross Street/Strand Street intersection to Market Street/King Cross Street intersection.

The paving schedule is as follows:

HOPE/HESS ROAD SEWER LINE REPAIRS

 

The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises the community that on Saturday December 23rd VIWMA’s contractor, SD&C, Inc., will be conducting repairs on the sewer line on the Hope/Hess Road in the vicinity of H.H. Tire & Battery and Junie’s Bar & Restaurant.

Traffic on Hope/Hess Road going north to Lowry Hill/Southside Road will detour to the road north of Divine Funeral Home by taking the last left turn off the Hess Road and then an immediate right turn to access H.H. Tire & Battery, Junie’s Bar and Restaurant, Seventh-day Adventist Church/other properties, and South Shore Road.

Motorists are asked to slow down and use caution when traversing these areas.
