VIWMA LAUNCHES PUBLIC EDUCATION SERIES ON AIR CURTAIN INCINERATOR TECHNOLOGY
SU.S. Virgin Islands - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) is launching a five-day public education series beginning Monday, October 5, 2026, to provide residents with information about Air Curtain Incinerator (ACI) technology and its role in managing green waste throughout the Territory.
Throughout the week, VIWMA will share educational materials through its official social media platforms explaining what an ACI is, how the technology works, the types of materials it is designed to process, and the environmental and regulatory considerations involved.
The series will also address common questions and misconceptions surrounding the technology, while giving residents an opportunity to learn more and engage directly with the Authority.
As VIWMA continues exploring solutions to improve green waste management, the Authority remains committed to keeping the community informed, providing accurate information, and addressing public questions throughout the process.
VIWMA thanks residents for their continued engagement and encourages the community to follow the series as we work together toward stronger and more sustainable green waste management solutions.
