VIWMA IMPLEMENTS TEMPORARY HOUSE-TO-HOUSE WASTE COLLECTION PROCEDURES
U.S. Virgin Islands — The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) is advising residents of temporary adjustments to its house-to-house waste collection services.
VIWMA will collect household trash directly from residential barrels once all waste is securely bagged and placed inside the barrels. Residents are reminded not to place trash bags outside of the barrels, as only properly bagged waste contained within barrels will be collected.
This temporary measure will remain in effect until VIWMA receives its shipment of new trash carts. The Authority is working diligently to enhance and standardize waste collection services and appreciates the public’s cooperation during this transition period.
VIWMA will continue to keep the community informed regarding the arrival of the new trash carts and any updates to collection procedures.
