VIWMA RESCHEDULES TERRITORY-WIDE TOWN HALL MEETINGS

(U.S. Virgin Islands) – The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) will host a series of town hall meetings across the territory to engage residents in open dialogue on key waste management initiatives as follows:

  • Croix: Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Alfredo Andrews Elementary School Auditorium in Estate Kingshill, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Thomas/St. John: Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the Omar Brown, Sr. Fire Station Conference Room, in Estate Ross Taarneberg, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

These meetings will provide an opportunity for residents to learn more about and discuss several important topics, including the territory-wide construction of Convenience Centers, the transition to standardized trash carts, wastewater and solid waste fees, efforts to address illegal dumping, and other critical waste management initiatives.

Community input is essential as VIWMA works toward creating a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable Virgin Islands. Residents are encouraged to attend, ask questions, share concerns, and offer feedback that will help guide future planning and decision-making.

VIWMA looks forward to collaborating with the community to develop effective, long-term solutions that benefit everyone and appreciates the public’s continued participation and support.
