VIWMA URGES RESIDENTS TO PROPERLY DISPOSE OF BULK WASTE AT  DESIGNATED FACILIITES

(U.S. Virgin Islands) – The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) would like to inform the community that residential bulk waste items, such as mattresses, tables, and couches, are accepted at no cost at the Bovoni Landfill and Mandahl Convenience Center (MCC) on St. Thomas, the Anguilla Landfill on St. Croix, and Susannaberg Transfer Station on St. John.

At the MCC, bulk items can be dropped off on a bi-weekly basis. Currently, metal waste is being accepted until Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. and will then alternate to bulk waste on the same day at 1:00 p.m. This alternating schedule will continue weekly. The solid waste facilities schedule is as follows:

WHITE GOODS

These locations are designated for the disposal of residential bulk waste only. Bulk waste items must not be dumped at bin sites; disposal is permitted only at the specified locations.

Residents are reminded that illegal dumping is against the law, and violators are subject to a fine of not less than $1,000 and/or 180 days imprisonment.

The VIWMA is committed to delivering reliable services and appreciates the community's continued support.
