Office of the Chief Operating Officer
The Office of the Chief Operations Officer supervises the operating divisions within the Authority – Solid Waste and Wastewater. This office provides the direction and pace for the completion of tasks and services. It provides oversight supervision of the field crew and the waste collection, treatment and disposal facilities, assuring their compliance with local and federal mandates. This includes the Territory’s solid waste landfills and transfer station, waste disposal sites, collection and management services and the wastewater collection, disposal and treatment systems and associated facilities. The proper management of these areas has suffered in the past and presents a challenge to bring systems into compliance by upgrading, replacing, or repairing hundreds of miles of sewer lines. It also includes a public compliance requirement to guide our communities into the proper disposal of solid waste at the waste disposal sites or landfills that assist the Authority in bringing the system into compliance. The Office of Compliance Management and the Environmental Enforcement Officers work closely with the operations divisions to educate the public, guide waste haulers, and cite the public for illegal acts while tracking the Authority’s requirements for permitting and compliance issues.
