(St. John, USVI) September 17, 2021 - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises the St. John Community that effective immediately the Susannaberg Transfer Station will be accepting waste from haulers carrying commercial trash. There will be a fee to offset the haulers barge and transportation costs to St. Thomas. In the near future as our capacity expands, we will be accepting Construction and Demolition waste with a similar transportation offset fee.

Haulers are defined as individuals operating a business for profit whose vehicle/hauling body transports 5 yards or more of waste material.

Haulers using the residential bin sites around the island to illegally dump waste will be fined. Fines may include the following: 1,000 hours of community service, 180 days imprisonment or a maximum fine of $1000.
