VIWMA ADVISES COMMUNITY OF NANA AND BOURNEFIELD PUMP STATION SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS

(St. Thomas, USVI) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises the community of an overflow at the Nana pump station and mechanical failure at the Bournefiled pump station, which occurred at approximately 1:00 pm, Friday, November 06, 2020. The Bournefield pump station has since been taken offline for repairs.

VIWMA staff and contractors will be working diligently into the weekend to bring both facilities back online. The Authority will continue to keep the community abreast of repair progress.

Traffic will not be impacted, as berms will be placed in the area to reduce any environmental impacts. Residents with impacted immune systems or respiratory conditions are asked to avoid the area until repairs are complete.

The VIWMA thanks the community for their cooperation and patience.
