At the VIWMA, our job is to serve our customers and community by maintaining the Territory’s solid waste and wastewater systems. To provide these required services, fees must be assessed for materials and manpower required to perform these tasks. To perform our jobs and provide the required services, fees must be assessed to provide for the materials and manpower required to perform the tax.

The Wastewater User Fee (WUF), formerly known as the Sewer User Fee (SUF), is charged to property owners who are currently on the public sewer system. This fee is attached to the annual Property Tax that is presently collected through the Tax Assessor’s Office of the Office of the Lieutenant Governor for the Government of the Virgin Islands.

Business owners or residents who use private waste haulers should ensure that they are permitted to utilize the VIWMA’s facilities for disposal of the waste. Businesses who perform solid waste or wastewater disposal services must be permitted annually to utilize the VIWMA’s facilities. These waste haulers must comply with the Authority’s rules and regulations for the acceptance, collection and disposal of waste at any VIWMA facility. A Waste Manifest form must be utilized by all generators of waste prior to acceptance at any VIWMA facility.
