“Keep It Clean” Jingle Contest

The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority is inviting all schools in the Territory to be a part of our Preserving Paradise “Litter Free Virgin Islands” Jingle Contest.

The purpose of this is to engage students in the creation of a 60 Second jingle to educate and encourage children across the Virgin Islands to do their part to keep our islands clean.

Research has found that many young people don’t consider litter to be an important issue. As a result, they don’t feel guilty about dropping litter on the ground. But, the VIWMA wants to work with our schools and our students to change that behavior.

Students under the guidance of their school’s music instructors are encouraged to create a jingle by developing a message and the accompanying music to promote a “Litter Free Virgin Islands” to their peers.

In the month of May, a panel of judges will select the top three entries. The top three jingles will receive a cash prize for use in the school’s music department. Prizes are

  • Winner - $750
  • Second Place - $500
  • Third Place - $250
