The goal of the Community Enrichment Grant (CEG) Program is to provide opportunities for youth groups, schools and non-profit organizations to take an active role in the improvement of the environment of the Virgin Islands by utilizing funds made available by the V.I. Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) for environment improvement programs.

VIWMA created the Community Enrichment Grant Program to encourage awareness, beautification, resource recovery (including recycling and composting) in the Virgin Islands. This program is a Territory-wide community empowerment initiative that is designed to assist communities in addressing numerous environmental issues which may be identified in their local environment. The program is also designed to create partnerships which address environmental priorities at the local level, and to support self sustaining community based initiatives which are aimed to improve the environment.

The principal objective of the Community Enrichment Grant program is to provide assistance to citizen groups, school groups and non-profit organizations in the creation of viable, long term and environmental protection projects that will have a sustained impact on the environment
